Old Testament Survey
This course is a basic overview of the Old Testament. The aim is to acquaint the student with the content, message, and personal application of each book, and to study the unity of all the books in the progress of revelation and redemption.

New Testament Survey
This course is an overview of the four Gospels portraying the life of Christ. The Book of Acts is used as a historical framework for the study of the earlier New Testament letters and as an introduction to its later letters and to its climax. Application of the New Testament’s teachings to our individual and corporate lives as believers in maintained throughout.

COGIC History& Polity
February 2020
This combination course examines the life, works, and theology of Bishop Charles Harrison Mason. It also explores the origins and ministry of the Church of God in Christ up to the current year. Students will learn to examine techniques, principles, and standard practices in the delivery of sermons. Students will practice delivering sermons and will critique the sermons of fellow students. This course will also examine the scriptural foundations for the Statement of Faith of the Church of God in Christ and the role of the Statement of Faith (SOF) in the individual life of the believer and the corporate life of the Church. It explores how and why the COGIC statement is similar to, yet different from, statements adopted by other Christians and link the SOF to core Christian doctrines.

The Preaching Course/Homiletics
This combination course will instruct to teach students to prepare and deliver effective sermons that inform, nurture, and inspire the saint who listens for a word from the Lord. It introduces students to the basic steps involved in choosing texts for sermons and how to craft and deliver various styles of sermons. Students will also learn to examine techniques, principles, and standard practices in the delivery of sermons. Students will practice delivering sermons and will critique the sermons of fellow students.
